Be in Compliance

If you are operating the property as a rental, please be advised that you must comply with the District of Columbia’s General licensing statute, D.C. Official Code § 47-2828(a), which requires owners of residential buildings in which one or more dwelling units are offered for rent or lease to obtain a Basic Business License (BBL). Compliance on the part of property owners is necessary to ensure the health and safety of renters, dwellers, boarders and other residential and transient occupants.
